Certification Logo Usage Guide

 

Introduction

The use of the certification logos certifies that the certification is registered with a certification body.
Certified clients can use the certification logos to promote their achievement.

※To use the certification logo mark, must include the following.

  • Company name, Brand, etc.
  • Type of management system and applicable standards (Example:ISO9001・ISO14001・ISO27001)
  • Certification bodies that issue certifications (Example:LAP Co., Ltd.)
Where to use the logo:
  • Advertising
  • Brochures
  • Business cards
  • Websites
  • Use of LAP certification logo in isolation
Where not to use the logo:
  • Laboratory test, calibration or inspection reports or certificates
  • Product packaging (outer packaging and individual packaging)
  • Products, processes, services, labels, identification plates
  • Activities and sites outside the scope of certification
  • Use of IAF or accreditation body (ANAB) logo in isolation

※The certification logo can be used widely, but please note that there are regulations to their use.

 

Requirements for use

  1. The certified client shall conform to the requirements of the certification body when using to its certification logos in communication media such as the internet, brochures or advertising, or other documents.

  2. The logo must not be directly used on products or product packages.
    It must not be used in such a way as to mislead the public into believing that the certification body has certified the product itself.

  3. Certified clients shall not use the certification logo to laboratory test, calibration or inspection reports or certificates. They shall not be used in such a way as to mislead the public into believing that the certification body has certified them.

  4. Non-certified organizations shall not use, display, or advertise a false certification logo.

  5. In case of withdrawal of a certification, the use of all related documentation, including the certification logo, will be prohibited in accordance with the instructions of the certification body.

  6. If the scope of certification is reduced due to a change, the certification must be modified and used in such a way that it is recognizable as being within the scope of certification.

  7. Certified clients must comply with laws, regulations, and advertising guidelines when displaying the certification logo as an advertisement, and shall not use its certification in such a manner that would bring the certification body and/or certification system into disrepute and lose public trust.

  8. Incorrect use of the certification logo may result in suspension or withdrawal of certification. If a certification logo is found to be used incorrectly, appropriate action must be taken, such as correction and corrective action, collecting of the certificate, etc.

  9. Non-certified organizations using a false certification logo or committing a violation will be held legally liable according to the regulations.

 

Limitations

Limitation

  • Size

    The LAP logo may be enlarged or reduced in size, But the minimum length of the certification mark is 10 mm in length.
    Please note that the size must be adjusted the length by 10mm or more and observe the length to width ratio when using the logo.

  • Color

    In principle, please use the logo in color.
    However, if this is difficult, using it in black and white is also available. Please contact us.

  • Expiry date

    The certification logo be used from the date of issuance of the certificate until its expiration date.

  • Accreditation body(ANAB) logo and IAF MLA Mark

    • The accreditation body (ANAB) logo must always be used in conjunction with the certification body (LAP) logo.
      ※The Accreditation body (ANAB) logo may not be used in isolation from LAP logo.
      LAP certification logo may be used in isolation.
    • The size of the accreditation body (ANAB) logo must not exceed the size of the certification body (LAP) logo. Please note that the logo must be used the ratio of the logo which has been provided.
    • The accreditation body (ANAB) logo shall be used on a background that will not impede readability.
      e.g.) In black or blue (PMS 286 or equivalent) and red (PMS 485 or equivalent) on a white or light-colored background, or white on a dark-colored background
    • Use of the IAF logo is prohibited.
  • Statement regarding certification

    The following statements must be included in the promotional text for the certification.

    • Identification (e.g. brand or name) of the certified client
    • The type of management system and the applicable standard (e.g ISO 9001,ISO/IEC27001 etc.)
    • The certification body (LAP) issuing the certificate.
        e.g.)“ABC Co., Ltd.” has been certified the ISO9001 Quality Management System by LAP.
